Our story

It all started when…

Udi Hershkovitz, longtime restaurateur and co-founder of FuegoMundo in Sandy Springs and former Ponce City Market restaurant Marrakesh, introduces Atlantans to a true Israeli street food experience with his latest restaurant SabaRaba’s. Located in the Parkside Shops near the corner of Roswell Road and Hammond Drive in Sandy Springs, SabaRaba’s operates out of a yellow shipping container to replicate the feeling of a “falafeliya” and offers guests fresh, authentic falafel, shawarma, sabich and salads for lunch and dinner.

“I grew up in Tel Aviv where falafel stands are everywhere. I think it’s time Sandy Springs gets to experience real Israeli street food,” Hershkovitz says. “Although I’ve operated several brick-and-mortar restaurants in the past, I felt strongly about SabaRaba’s being a kiosk just like the ones back home for a truly authentic dining experience. I’m very proud of who I am and where I am from.”

The name SabaRaba, which translates to great grandpa in Hebrew, pays tribute to Hershkovitz’s father, whom Hershkovitz credits for teaching him about life and the meaning of good food. Now, Hershkovitz is passionate about sharing the freshness and health benefits of his cuisine with guests. In keeping with the authentic flavors from his upbringing, Hershkovitz brought his cousin chef Tomer Hauptman from Israel on board to craft SabaRaba’s recipes.
